Training courses designed for Horse & livestock event organisers, coaches, officials, welfare officers and people who encounter large animals in the workplace.

 

All courses can be tailored for the client’s specific needs and requirements.

Training includes: Introduction to Large Animal Rescue training, horse behaviour, practice the basic manoeuvres applied to horses or other large livestock (forwards, rearwards, sideways drags), safe manual handling techniques and working as a team.
Accident scene risk assessments, use of the rescue glide, considerations for handling deceased horses with dignity at accident scenes at public events.

 

Helps horse & livestock organisations or workplace requirements for:

  • Workplace health & safety (new WHS laws now include volunteers)
  • Animal welfare management continuous improvement
  • Training helps attract and retain volunteers & staff and to keep them safe in your workplace – which includes horse & livestock events, shows, rallies, stables, vet clinics, emergency services etc.

 

TRAINING  INFORMATION

  • A blend of theory and practical sessions

 

Participants successfully completing the required training & assessments will receive a Certificate of Attainment in the following Units of Competency, delivered in the context of Emergency Large Animal Rescue.
